The Climatic Regions map is a summary of the weather conditions that characterize New York State throughout the course of a year. Weather can vary enormously from day to day. Climate remains relatively constant but does change slowly. Farmers depend on climatic information when deciding which crops to plant and when to plant to help ensure a successful harvest.
